Heavy Lifting For Sites Where Mobile Cranes Can't Go
Most heavy lifting problems aren't about weight alone — they're about access. Narrow doorways, low headroom, weak floors, live services and occupied buildings all rule out conventional cranes, forklifts and telehandlers. That's where we come in.
We've spent over a decade developing the equipment, methods and experience to move heavy loads through the kinds of routes other contractors walk away from.
Restricted Access & Confined Spaces
Heavy lifting where headroom, doorway width and floor loading are the limiting factors. We work in basements, plant rooms, service corridors, rooftops and internal spaces where engine-powered machines aren't suitable or can't physically fit.
Controlled Rotation & Precision Positioning
We manoeuvre, rotate and align heavy equipment into its final position with millimetre accuracy. Ideal for sensitive machinery, tight plant room layouts and equipment that needs precise levelling or alignment to services.
Sensitive & Clean Environments
Our non-engine-powered lifting systems are suitable for food production areas, pharmaceutical clean rooms, data centres and electrically sensitive environments where diesel or petrol plant would be unacceptable.
Fully Planned & Managed Lifts
Every heavy lift is backed by task-specific RAMS, a documented lift plan and competent supervision on site. We coordinate with your programme, your principal contractor and any other trades to keep the job compliant and minimise downtime.
Precision Mechanical & Hydraulic Heavy Lifting
Our hydraulic lifting and skate systems raise heavy loads with fine control even where lift height is severely restricted. Unlike cranes or gantry systems, our equipment is portable, non-marking and designed to travel through standard doorways and along corridors.
Key capabilities:
- Heavy lifting capacity up to 10,000 kg (higher capacities available on request)
- Ultra-low lift height - raise loads just millimetres off the floor while retaining full 360° manoeuvrability
- Independent locking mechanisms for safe, controlled travel in one direction at a time
- Lightweight, portable equipment that goes where cranes, forklifts and gantries can't
- Non-engine-powered systems suitable for indoor, clean and electrically sensitive environments
- Bespoke lifting frames and cradles designed and fabricated when standard tooling doesn't fit
We select the right combination of hydraulic jacks, moving skates, pick-and-carry cranes, gantry hoists and manual handling equipment for each job - there's no one-size-fits-all approach.

Working alongside principal contractors on new builds, refurbishments and fit-outs, lifting plant and equipment into position during the build programme.
Facilities (FM) & Building Services:
Replacing end-of-life boilers, chillers, AHUs and other building services plant, often in occupied buildings with restricted access and live services.
Industrial & Manufacturing:
Factory relocations, production line reconfiguration, new machine installation and decommissioning of heavy process equipment.
Data Centres & IT:
Moving server racks, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure in electrically sensitive, access-controlled environments.
Healthcare & Laboratories:
Relocating sensitive medical imaging equipment, laboratory instruments and pharmaceutical production machinery.
Food & Beverage:
Moving production equipment in clean, hygienic environments where engine-powered machinery is not permitted.

How Our Heavy Lifting Service Works
1. Enquiry & Information
Tell us what you need moved, the weight (or approximate weight), and the access conditions. Photos and measurements of doorways, corridors and the final position are always helpful.
2. Survey & Planning
For complex or high-value lifts, we carry out a site survey to assess access routes, floor loading, headroom, services and any other constraints. We then produce a detailed method statement and risk assessment.
3. Quotation
We aim to return a quotation in the same working day for standard work. Complex or multi-phase projects may take longer, particularly when a site survey is required.
4. The Lift
Our trained, CSCS-registered operatives arrive with the right equipment for the job. All lifting is carried out to the agreed method statement under competent supervision.
5. Completion & Sign-Off
Equipment placed in its final position, area left clean and tidy, and paperwork completed. We can coordinate with your M&E contractor for immediate reconnection if required.

Heavy Lifting - Frequently Asked Questions
How do you move heavy equipment without a crane?
We use specialist hydraulic lifting and skate systems that raise loads just millimeters off the floor. Combined with moving skates, rollers and pick-and-carry cranes and more, this allows us to maneuver heavy equipment through doorways, along corridors and down into basements - routes no crane could access.
What is the maximum weight you can lift?
Our standard heavy lifting service covers loads up to 10,000 kg. For heavier loads we can scale up with additional equipment or alternative methods, we've worked in capacities over 100 metric tons- contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Do you work in awkward confined spaces and basements?
Yes. Confined spaces, basements, plant rooms and rooftops are our core working environments. Our portable, non-engine-powered equipment is designed specifically for locations where conventional lifting plant can't operate.
Is your heavy lifting service available nationwide?
Yes. We're based in Gloucestershire and provide heavy lifting services across the whole of the UK, from single-item moves to multi-phase relocation projects.
Do you provide RAMS and lift plans?
Every job is covered by a task-specific risk assessment and method statement (RAMS). For complex or high-risk lifts we produce detailed lift plans and coordinate with your principal contractor to ensure full CDM compliance.
Can you work in food production or clean room environments?
Yes. Our non-engine-powered lifting systems produce no emissions and are suitable for hygienic, pharmaceutical and food-grade environments.
How quickly can you provide a quote?
We aim to return quotations within one hour for standard work. If a site survey is needed, we'll arrange that as quickly as possible and follow up with a detailed quote.
